Waide Academy at a Glance

Waide Academy gives your child one hour each day to wrestle with the big questions school doesn't address. In their own immersive world, your child will engage in dialogues that challenge their ways of thinking and doing. Our curriculum doesn't replace “regular” school. Instead, Waide Academy gives your child the tools to organize their knowledge and build a life of joy, purpose, and responsibility. Waide Academy is designed for students ages 12 and up, with younger Cadets welcome when a parent believes they are ready for the Academy's dialogues.

The Platform

Immersive, Adaptive, and Parent-Involved

Cadets learn inside a private world built to feel personal, focused, and alive. They explore the map, discover characters, enter dialogues, collect artifacts, and store their favorite ideas in their backpack's notebooks. Topics are not rushed by a classroom schedule or a teacher overwhelmed with other students. Each dialogue adapts to the Cadet's pace, allowing them to work at their ideal speed, think clearly, and develop real understanding before moving forward. Parents are not left outside the process. Guardian profiles allow parents to see what their child is studying, how they are progressing, and what conversations are worth continuing over the dinner table.

The Curriculum

Deep, Dialogue-Based, with Real-World Application

Every Waide Academy dialogue begins with a big question. How much control do we have over our own behavior? What does it mean to be a reliable person? What should we be aiming at in life? Instead of being told to memorize facts for a test, Cadets are asked to think through topics like discipline, responsibility, interpersonal conflict, life purpose, reasoning, and self-control. As they complete dialogues, they are encouraged to begin writing two essential papers: their Compass and their Campaign. With these always-evolving documents, Cadets learn the skills of developing a strong identity, and building effective plans for their future.
