Why will my kid like this?
A Private World of Their Own
Kids love learning. However, most traditional schooling methods deliver information in a sterile, factory-like way that kills the natural curiosity of a young mind. Immersion is the key to increasing focus, engagement, and retention in our kids. Waide Academy gives kids what textbooks and bubble sheets cannot: a private, immersive world to learn inside of. For an hour a day, Cadets explore a living town full of characters, colors, music, and sounds. They locate and interact with mentors who have their own houses, favorite reading spots, and challenging topics to dive into.
How does Waide Academy teach?
Dialogues that Adapt to Their Abilities
Waide Academy uses the oldest and most powerful way of educating: dialogues. Modern schooling naturally overlooks many students because teachers simply can't keep up with the exact learning curves and capabilities of every student at once. Inside the Academy, Cadets engage in one-on-one tutoring with mentors who actively learn about what kind of student they are. As the dialogue deepens, mentors steer the conversation using language and examples fitted to your child's learning style, pushing them exactly where they need it most.
How do the mentors work?
From the Mouths of History's Legends
To help your child answer the most important questions, Waide Academy has called upon the greatest minds throughout history. Mentors have been chosen for their iconic strengths and discoveries. Socrates teaches personal philosophy, Franklin teaches self-discipline, etc. Every Waide Academy mentor is trained on books, speeches, and journals from their real historical counterparts. The top priority is accuracy and direction. This ensures that Cadets feel like they are really dialoguing with a living legend.
Additionally, mentors are trained to:
- Ignore modern political biases, remaining true to their character
- Discipline Cadets who are disrespectful, even ending dialogues for harsh language
- Keep the lesson on track, curbing drift and off-topic comments
Can I see what my child is up to?
Parents Can See Everything
No more parent-teacher conferences or interrogating your kid at the dinner table to find out what they learned that day. Every Waide Academy parent gets their own Guardian Portal connected to their child's world. From your portal, you can view what dialogues your child has completed and what they're currently working on. You can also view transcripts of your child's dialogues, giving you a complete view of what your child is doing in the Academy.
